Business Solutions Expert

Columbus, Ohio

Do you live for the rush when a customer’s need converts to commitment to purchase? Are you a proven “hunter,” in the free-market, revenue-generating sense of the word? Do you want a pay structure with no limits based on performance?

AutoUpLink Tech connects automotive retailers with their customers by providing software applications and services that retailers use to manage the customer lifecycle from inception online through ownership. This position will focus primarily on the promotion of our automotive, photography subscription service to prospective retailers in Michigan, although you will be able to contract clients for any product or service we offer.

AutoUpLink Tech’s automotive, photography subscription service provides expert photographers who visit businesses daily to photograph vehicles so they can be advertised successfully online. Photographers also provide other services while on-site which we refer to as On-the-Lot Services that you will also sell.

As a Business Solutions Expert you will identify business opportunities in Ohio, communicate with prospects, host product demonstrations and contract new business. You also will be responsible for curating business relationships after the initial sale to retain business and up-sell products and services.

The Revenue Generation team you will work in is an acquisition and retention team that is performance driven and results oriented. There is always more to learn, another personal best to achieve, or competitor to shellac. We blend modern marketing technologies and proven sales practices to educate clients about outcomes that can be achieved with our products and services. The ideal candidate will have five years of sales experience as well as a working knowledge about automotive retail practices and business.

Our team includes brilliant people who share the goal to free companies from buying expensive, difficult-to-use, enterprise software. It’s exciting stuff, and you can be part of it. Work with amazing people doing amazing things. You’ll learn heaps and be challenged daily. Bring passion and dedication to your job and there’s no telling what you could accomplish.

  • Curate a Relentless Winning Attitude: Lesson # 1… the only thing you truly control is your attitude, and it is the single greatest asset or liability in terms of success in business. Temet Nosce.
  • Represent: yourself and AutoUpLink Tech with integrity, honesty and professionalism. No exceptions.
  • Respond to Inquiries: Whether it be a lead generated by Marketing that needs an initial response or a phone call from a customer who purchased four months ago, respond to exceed expectations. Every. Single. Time.
  • Identify prospective candidates: we didn’t just ask if you were a hunter above to craft a pretty job listing. Stay hungry my friend.
  • Gather Evidence & Diagnose Pain: ask questions, listen to answers, confirm pain points, share success stories, ask questions, analyze answers, diagnose root causes, recommend solutions, gain commitment, prescribe our antidote, etc.
  • Document candidates & Your Activities: document the evidence of pain points, unknown needs (unknown to the customer), decision markers, stake holders, existing products in use, budgets, past failures, business needs, desired outcomes, wish lists, your follow up activities, etc.
  • Measure Interest: assumption breeds failure; constantly measure client interest throughout the acquisition cycle;
  • Ask for the Business: know when and how strongly to ask each individual influencing the outcome;
  • Proactively Manage Earned Business: when a customer purchases from you, recognize that their trust must be earned recursively or someone else will just take the business away from us;

  • Curious & Inquisitive Strategic Thinker: Curiosity is the single most important trait of a top salesperson. At the most basic level, someone who is curious asks questions--and lots of them. Questions lead to conversations, and conversations beget engagement.
  • Generous Problem Solver: Contrary to popular belief, selling is not about being cutthroat but rather about being generous. Someone who is generous approaches each interaction with the idea, "How can I help?" rather than, "What can I sell?" It is the choice to be generous with one’s time, one’s ideas, and one’s advice that moves a customer from wary to willing.
  • Meticulous Listener: Salespeople are notorious for big mouths, big shows, and big promises. Some deliver on those "big" things, and some don't. A meticulous person knows that the devil is in the details. She makes sure that she speaks only about reasons to buy that are real for the client in question. She pays careful attention to what the customer asks for and promises only what she can truly deliver in terms of his ask. She keeps careful notes on each discussion with the customer, so she always can be thinking about ways to help build on the customer's expectations as the relationship grows.
  • Mission Oriented: goal oriented is super. really. But we’re on a mission and we’re looking for candidates whose personal mission intermingles well with ours;
  • Insatiable Student: technology evolves quickly, constantly influencing clients’ perception about their needs. Our team members must keep up and not wait for granular guidance from inside our dojo. Seek knowledge about the new technologies, trends and innovations;
  • Self motivated with the ability to work independently (a la Jason Bourne);
  • Black Belt level time management & organizational skills;
  • Stout communication, interpersonal and problem solving skills;
  • Minimum three years recent, applicable professional business development experience (you must know the basics of sales kung foo);
  • Proficiency with laptop running Windows OS (Windows 7 or 8) or Mac (preferably) for day-to-day use;
  • B.A. or B.S. Degree, or equivalent;

Bonus Points for:

  • Enterprise software sales experience;
  • Automotive Retail experience;
  • Proficiency using a CRM application to document sales efforts and client needs;
  • Familiarity with Confluence WIKI software;
  • Experience selling technology products to automotive retailers will be awarded double bonus points;

What we Look for in Who we Work With

We’re perfectionists. Idealists. Inventors. Designers. Forever tinkering with products and processes, always on the lookout for better. A job at AutoUpLink Tech is one that expects a lot of you, but it’s also one that rewards original thinking and hard work. We wouldn’t have it any other way.

When you imagine the creative design process at AutoUpLink Tech, at first you may not picture someone in HR. Or operations. Or finance.
